I was rather skeptical about that product. Did my research, called the company, with money back guarantee I took a plunge. Boy, great I did. We had a large jacuzzi in our porch for about a year. Since the beginning I was experimenting with top rated chemicals like Zodiac, Nature2, Leisure etc. and always had issues either with bubbles, film on top or most hated blackish edge scum I had to clean every few days. I could not believe there was nothing I could to, except changing water and adding more chemicals ( with mediocre results ) Carefree spa was my last effort, I found them being recommended on the hot tub forum. Let me tell you:
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
The name of it tells it all. Used that for the last 6 months and water is simply great: no scum, no foam, no film, no cloudiness. We use it ( 5 ppl ) on weekend only and one bottle lasts about 2 months during which you do absolutely nothing. Always clean and ready to go. Important point to learn:
after you are ready to use treatment first time, you have to purge and shock fresh water. So, after new water is in, put chlorine in for about 5-6 days. When smell is gone, shock the water for a day. After one week, you are ready to put your first bottle of Carefreespa treatment. It will last you up to 2 months with no maintenance of any kind. After 2 months, go with next buttle etc. When you use your 3 bottles, only then you should replace your water ( remember to purge and do shocking for a week first ).
