Two rows of independently flexing tines gently pulls thatch from a lawn and is picked right up by the high-velocity sweeper brushes on the first pass. The dethatcher kit easily installs to the sweeper and the tines can be moved into the "up" position to use the sweeper independently.

I wasn't sure how good this was going to work in my yard but I can tell you it does a great job. This dethatcher along with the sweeper is a hell of a combination. It's fully adjustable as well. Just make sure you take to time to put together your sweeper correctly (leveling and height adjustments during assembly) and you will have no issues with this dethatcher. I didn't think that much would come up when I used this on my lawn. After about ten minutes of using this I had about 150 lbs of dead grass in the bin of my sweeper. So much so that I had to get off the mower and manually pick the bin up to dump it. Needless to say I was impressed. This has been my first dethatcher and I was a little concerned that it would tear up the yard more than it would help but that's not the case. The "tines" have just the right amount of tension to do the job but not gouge the yard up. Putting it together and installing it on the sweeper took maybe 30-45 minutes. A good magnetic torpedo level will help considerably with this. Great buy and I'm sure I'll use it multiple times throughout the year to remove the old dead grass.
