Me and my buddies bought a lumatek, quantum, ipower, and apollo ballast to test its quality before placing a larger order. After 1 grow, me and my buddies noticed there is no difference in yield or quality between the four ballast. The ballast does not matter as much, it is the skill of the grower. Think about it, HID ballast technology has been around more many decades. Even the Chinese have perfected this technology. All four ballast are Made in China. Lumatek is bulky but quiet since there is no cooling fan. For this reason the casing of lumatek is bigger for more efficient heat sink. However, Lumatek is quite expensive. Quantum is great also, except for the price tag. Quantum, ipower, and apollo has the exact same ballast casing. I think they are all from the same factory in China. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy Quantum because they are exactly the same as ipower and apollo and cost $30-50 more. Now it is down to my final two choice between ipower & apollo. At first it was a tough choice. The price is just about the same. The main reason I decided to go with Apollo is that they offer 3 year warranty and they include a warranty registration card in their original packaging. Their service seems more professional. iPower only offer 1 year warranty. And purple is my favorite color =D
