Eagle U2-26-S Red Galvanized Steel Type II Gas Safety Can with 7/8" Flex Spout, 2 gallon Capacity, 9.5" Height, 11.25" Diameter Review

Where to start?

The real problem is the government instituted some newer safety measures for gas cans that make all gas cans suck. Do not throw away your old can.

A neighbor of mine gave me an ancient version of this can, but I needed two, one for gas/oil for the snow blower, the other straight gas for a home generator. The old one is still in good shape, except rust on the bottom.

The can arrived with no dents, but some pain chips on the bottom. The nozzle had slight corrosion on it.

Like others have said, its a bit hard to figure it out, but I am guessing its the government rules that make it that way. Do not throw away your old can.

The long nozzle is good for getting gas in items unlike the annoying nozzles on the cheap plastic gas can, but on the other hand, the nozzle touches the ground, so I keep the plastic bag it came with to protect it. The nozzle arrived in the box but not attached.

The flap on the rear is spring loaded, so you have to hold it open when you are filling it. By the way, your car can build up static electricity, you should take the gas can out of your car and place it on the ground before letting the gas station nozzle touch it.

I have a Subaru, so this might apply only to Subarus, but I wanted to get rid of the gas in the can so I could purchase fresh gas, so I poured it into the car, and the lip of the brass ferrule on the nozzle got stuck on the flap door inside the car. Major pain. This also has happened to me with the cheap plastic gas cans. Solution is take a thin metal strip, bend it so it can't fall into the tank, then pour the gas in. It would not have been funny if it was midnight on a deserted road at -10 F. Again, I attribute some of this to government laws.

Do not throw away your old gas can.
