The 5 gallon version weighs about 7 or 8 lbs. Stainless hardware, and I am very surprised at the thickness of the plastic jug. Its so rigid I can sit on it and not bow the plastic. Extremely sturdy and high quality. Has a built in filter. Not sure if the filter is removable, looks like it could come out easily enough. The price is steep, but I can foresee this gas can will easily outlive me with no way for it to leak like a galvanized stamped steel one would.

There is no comparison from this gas can to say a walmart gas can or blitz plastic can bought at autozone, etc. The justrite is super duper solid. Hands down a real great product.
