The SL-4392-BK decorative post light provides 360-degree motion detection up to 30 feet. This lantern has clear beveled glass and diecast metal construction with a weather resistant finish. Also, this lantern mounts to a 3 foot post with a pedestal-mount cover included. Uses (1) medium base incandescent bulb 100 watts max (not included). Features include DualBrite two-level lighting.

The post light arrived in disturbed packaging, giving me a feeling that it was a customer return, with the little bag of screws ripped and some screws missing. Luckily I did not need these particular screws. The lamp looked good and the very good instructions helped me install it without any problems. It is very sensitive to movement in all directions, but provided shields can decrease the sensitivity in desired direction, if some source triggers the light needlessly. It works just as advertised. I am very happy with it and only wish the instructions made it clear if the lamp is compatible with LED bulbs.
The lamp has three controls in its base that are hidden after it is installed:
1. SENSITIVITY potentiometer (like a volume control) from Min to Max - mine is set at 50% and I may have to turn it down, as it detects people from 20 ft away.
2. ON TIME MINUTES switch with positions for TEST, 1, 5, 10. In TEST mode the lamp will work even in daylight and will turn on for 5 seconds each time it detects motion. This is a very useful feature during installation.
3. DUAL BRIGHT switch, with positions for DUSK-TO-DAWN, 6 HOUR, 3 HOUR and OFF. This regulates how long will the lamp be on in a dim mode after it's triggered. I wish there was a setting for 30 minutes or 1 hour.
The lamp has also a "MANUAL MODE" which makes it stay on until next dawn. One engages that mode by temporarily switching the power off to the lamp for about 1 second. The next dawn cancels the MANUAL MODE and it's back to motion sensor control.
The only problem during installation was that when I tightened the 3 mounting screws, the rotation of the screw made the lamp tilt a bit each time. I had to muscle it back up straight. But I love its looks, sensitivity and flawless operation.
