it is definitely black and pretty close to white just not stark white but is not beige in any way.

It looks a bit plasticky and not as refined loking as in the whole rug photo but when you look at the close up photos it is an accurate picture so I knew that would be the case. It is fine for where I have it but not fitting if you want a more "up-scale" look.
