My backyard pond has always given me trouble with severe algae. I would clean it out and the next day it was green again. I could never enjoy my fish, and many were even dying. A local pond builder recommended I try a UV light as a last resort. I did lots of research online looking for the best one, since I knew nothing about UV lights. All the reviews I read on the Pondmaster UV light were good, and it seemed like a well-built product. I liked the idea of being able to use it in or out of the water. The only question I couldn't find an answer to was how to actually set it up in my pond with my pump and waterfall. I finally found a website with some help, but I would have been more confident in buying if I had more information on installation. When I received the product I found it was very easy to assemble and install. After 4 days my pond went from deep green to pale gray, then each day it got more and more clear. After about one week my pond is clear and I am enjoying watching my fish again. I would strongly recommend this product to any pond owner. It was so easy to install, and has cut my pond maintenance down significantly. No more dumping algaecides and clarifiers in with my fish either.

Over the years, SedgeHammer has shown to be safe to many turfgrass species. Unlike other products, SedgeHammer controls sedges where they actually grow, underground, not just the leaves. Considered as one of the more "gentle to turfgrass" products. Pets and people can return to treated area once spray dries. A nonionic surfactant is an additive that aids the penetration of Sedgehammer into the plant tissue. Surfactants are not only used in horticulture but are commonly used in many cleaning products. Their properties enable products to "sheet" or spread across a surface. It is always recommended that a surfactant be used to help SedgeHammer penetrate the waxy layer of the nutsedge leaf. The surfactant also aids in dispersing the water droplets evenly across the leaf tissues and facilitates adsorption into the vascular system of the plant. For best results, add a surfactant that is specifically made for horticultural purposes and labeled for use with an herbicide. If a nonionic surfactant is not available certain dishwashing detergents that contain high amounts of a nonionic surfactant may be helpful. Check the label of a dish soap to see if it contains a nonionic (not anionic) surfactant. The soap may contain both or just the anionic surfactant. If the label says it contains a nonionic surfactant, that is preferred. Dish soaps that are concentrated and are effective in grease dispersion often contain nonionic surfactants. Sedgehammer (1.3 oz) Review

This product worked quite well for my yellow nutsedge problem. It took a while to spray my 1 acre property, but after 10-14 days all of the nutsedge turned brown and died. I am now about 6-8 weeks out from the initial treatment and I have about 5% of my nutsedge regrowing. From my reading, this remaining nutsedge is from underground tubers that were no longer connected to above-ground leaves and so were unaffected by the first treatment. Although this product kills both young and old nutsedge plants, only the younger plants are still connected to the tubers. I have been very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get rid of this terrible weed.
