Allied Precision 20 in. Heated Bird Bath w/ Metal Stand Review

I own two Allied Heated Bird Baths. One has been outdoors, 24/7, for over ten years (Michigan). The other is fairly new.
I am very pleased with these heated baths. They have always worked in severe winter temps, and are left unplugged in warm seasons. The raccoons often climb up the stands and tumble to the ground, taking the bird bath with them. Sometimes deer fuss with the baths and knock them over. Every time I set them back up, the heating element still works. The units have never become too hot - so far, I have not had to worry about a fire. Allied's Heated Bird Bath takes some abuse and temperature extremes well. The birds love this bath.

The stand, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. It is poorly soddered, and falls apart easily. The one stand literally fell apart right out of the box. (And that is why my local Birdfeeder Store sold the Allied Heated Bird Bath to me at 1/4 the original price - such a deal!) I have my two stands pieced together with ring clamps, but they are still wobbly. I do not recommend purchasing another of the Allied stands if the original stand wears out. If your stand in this kit is falling apart, hire a welder, or jury-rig it (your local hardware person can help) and it will suffice for a few years.
Please Allied, offer a better stand!

Check your local Birdfeeder stores - this price on Amazon is OK, but the shipping is expensive. You will likely find this item around $80 at a local store and will save on shipping costs. Also, if you wish to return it, a local vender will probably give you a replacement right away.

May 26, 2013: The company has re-designed their stand. Noticed the new stand while in my local Birdfeeder store. It is nice to know Allied has listened to customer concerns and is taking action. I have not purchased the new style stand, but may give it a try in the future.

Marsh Allen 20530 Charcoal Barrel Grill Review

I put this together by myself without a problem. Lots of room on the grill. The first time we used it, we cooked for 7 people and we had hamburgers, hot dogs, and kabobs going at the same time with enough room to flip and move them. I took off one star just for the lid. It was dented in when I received it (just a cosmetic issue) and I was a little disappointed since the seller said it wasn't damaged on the inside. And also the lid, to me, seems like it goes back too far and will either break off or tip the grill. Hopefully that doesn't happen but I am having to be super careful I don't flip the top open too fast. Otherwise I am happy with this purchase and plan to do a lot of outdoor grilling this summer!

This is my fourth exact same patio rug...........I must have bought my first one four years ago. Honestly, the amazing thing is that my newest one (same pattern, colors ~ different size) I just got this week, looks almost EXACTLY like my oldest one. My Dad is rolling in his grave to hear me say "almost exactly", a phrase he always hated!) Anyway, these rugs wear extremely well. Unbelieveable really.

Mine have lived outdoors in all seasons........they get wet, they get dry, the sun burns down on them and they freeze. NOTHING seems to phase these fabulous rugs.

I have an ugly concrete patio and would love to have pavers, but can't really afford them. These rugs have made my patio disappear and I love the way they feel on my always bare feet!

One additional thing I've noticed about these rugs; the dirt sifts through them. When you pull them up you will be astonished at how much dirt and dust has accumulated under the rug! I have very active dogs and they haven't hurt the rugs at all!

Well designed product. We installed on 25' pole over our boat house. Lights up area with yellow light but does not blind you. Easy installation with correct tools, recommend a wireless drill. Wife loved it so we just ordered another for our yard light. this light mounted easily on a 4" x 4" pole. Hardest part was attaching the bracket, after that a piece of cake finishing. Strongly recommended.
