There are a few problems with the design. If you have smart animals like Raccoons, they can reach in and grab the food because the grates are not close enough together, so you come out and the food is gone with no animal in it the trap. Also once trapped inside they can flip the cage over and then the doors will open. Another problem is the trip to shut the doors runs along the outside, so the Raccoons can trip the doors by walking around it before even getting in.

Now that I have a trap that addresses all these issues, I have yet to lose any food.
