This is great on surfaces where you would otherwise use a broom. And much more efficient than a broom on decks and patios where there is furniture. I use it to clean off my driveway, sidewalks and decks. Does a very good job for this application. The first time I used it I charged it up and kept it on continuously and timed it. It lasted for 8 minutes before it shut off. I like that it kept moving a pretty good volume of air until the end and then just shut itself off. There is only one speed setting, which I don't think is a drawback. I do wish the battery had more capacity though. I wouldn't recommend this for yard work but it works very well on hard surfaces.
