Submersible 20 watt Ultraviolet (UV) Light Pond Water Clarifier for use with pumps up to 1800 GPH, in ponds up to 3000 gallons. Kills suspended algae with UV light. Water can be pumped through the UV light and then into a biological filter (sold separately) where debris and dead algae can be trapped and decomposed. When installed correctly, UV lights are very effective at eliminating green water pond problems. This UV light has a 3/4 barbed intake and outlet for flexible tubing and is equipped with an 18 ft power cord. The soft blue halo light rings show that the unit is working. The vortex flow design increases the exposure time of the water with the ultraviolet light and the slim diameter brings more of the water closer to the intense UV rays making the process more efficient. These clarifiers can be installed submersed in the pond or outside the pond. UL listed."

My backyard pond has always given me trouble with severe algae. I would clean it out and the next day it was green again. I could never enjoy my fish, and many were even dying. A local pond builder recommended I try a UV light as a last resort. I did lots of research online looking for the best one, since I knew nothing about UV lights. All the reviews I read on the Pondmaster UV light were good, and it seemed like a well-built product. I liked the idea of being able to use it in or out of the water. The only question I couldn't find an answer to was how to actually set it up in my pond with my pump and waterfall. I finally found a website with some help, but I would have been more confident in buying if I had more information on installation. When I received the product I found it was very easy to assemble and install. After 4 days my pond went from deep green to pale gray, then each day it got more and more clear. After about one week my pond is clear and I am enjoying watching my fish again. I would strongly recommend this product to any pond owner. It was so easy to install, and has cut my pond maintenance down significantly. No more dumping algaecides and clarifiers in with my fish either.
