I'll start with opening the shipping box and my first encounter with this Strathwood ottoman. The box contains only four pieces: the cushion, the central framework (slatted), and two leg assemblies (each includes two legs and screws onto each end).

Assembly: The small instruction sheet is undersized and with little explanation, but fortunately, assembly is essentially obvious. Using the four long screws and associated barrel nuts provided, you simply use two screws on each end to attach a two-leg assembly piece, seating each long screw into a barrel nut (which is inserted into the pre-drilled hole). Very easy, very strong.

The finished product exceeded my expectations. Finished dimensions are 17"H x 27.5"W square. Quite roomy. Cushion is a neutral medium khaki color, and has a zipper opening on the side for removal and washing. I had intended to replace an existing aluminum framed ottoman already in service with my indoor/outdoor furniture on an enclosed porch, but this Strathwood ottoman sat a little too high for my low slung outdoor chair (the Strathwood is of typical height, but my chair is a bit low). I ended up staying with the previous ottoman on the porch and moved the new Strathwood to my finished basement TV area where it looks great with my existing contemporary style sectional pit group. It currently sits against a side wall and serves as an extra seat, or an ottoman as desired, or a quick pull up table surface (the cushion surface is flat and firm and has a dense, washable weather tolerant fabric . . . so use it as you will).
