TEHO 4-volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Garden Maintenance Kit Review

I thought for sure that I would really enjoy using this product. I found the tools to be fairly bulky (but not heavy), the "power" level generated from these tools is only fair, and the pruner could be down-right dangerous if one is not SUPER careful. The plastic guards for the trimmer and shear blades, which should be in place when not in use, is really cheaply made and will crack and be broken in no time at all. The plastic guard for the pruner however is much more sturdy and will last a very long time.

I do like that the pruner has an LED light that you can activate prior to depressing the cutting switch. This will allow the user to better see what is being cut. I found that the pruner did not cut as cleanly as I suspected and often it struggled with branches that were smaller than what it claimed could be easily cut and the button to activate the pruner would have to be pushed 2 or 3 times to completely cut through the branch. The blade on the pruner can be easily replaced by pulling up a green lever and considering how expensive this product is, I was more than a little surprised that at least one additional blade wasn't included.

Overall, if you have an assortment of quality gardening tools, I suspect that you won't fall in love with this product (the exception might be those gardeners who are experiencing arthritis and find that manually working a pruner is no longer a comfortable option). I's not a bad product, I just found that it wasn't any more useful than my current tools and the added burden of charging it before use (not to mention keeping track of the charger), keeping it dry, and having to handle it more delicately than traditional tools (if dropped on a hard surface - you really run the risk of it breaking) made it a bit too high maintenance for my liking. I also found that it took longer to prune with the TEHO pruner and I couldn't reach as easily into tight spots. The only tool that produced faster results was the hedge trimmer. For small jobs, such as trimming up perennials once they are done flowering, the hedge trimmer made really quick work of tidying everything up.
