This lightweight garden fence system utilizes plastic coated steel wire mesh, steel anchor posts, and is designed to fully enclose your garden space. Fence assembles to create an 8 foot x 8 foot garden perimeter. Fence sections allow for additional arrangements that utilize circular or curved configurations. I bought these fences to protect a raised garden bed. I had considered everything from ugly wire fencing, chicken-wire, etc. and had almost given up unti I came across these. I was hesitant at first as there were no reviews, but I'm glad I took the chance. They arrived in large, sturdy boxes. I wasn't sure if they would be made of real cedar as opposed to a cheap stain on a cheap wood, as the description didn't say, but when I opened the boxes the fragrant smell of cedar wafted through the air. The wrought iron poles that hold the sections in place are nice and heavy. The slats are stapled onto the rails, but the product did not feel flimsy. I'm sure if one desired you could reinforce them further. The wire has a nice black coating and seems sturdy enough to keep most smaller critters like rabbits and opossums out of the garden area. I'm very happy with my purchase and hope this company continues to sell this product, as it's hard to find an attractive and effective garden fence, especially at this price!

UPDATE as of April 4, 2013:

I've now had this fence set up fore more than a year. It has withstood strong winds from the 2012 storm season here in coastal NC, and the pieces have kept their color. I've not had to do any repairs to the screen or slats. It's done a good job keeping the occasional opossum or raccoon out of my garden. Glad I got it before the price went up.

I needed a new solar cover to replace the old one on my pool. The previous "solar" cover I owned was made of a silver canvas-type material, and it really never increased the temperature of the water, though it did insulate heat from escaping at night.

When this cover arrived, I thought it would never do the job. It looks like bubble wrap and the instructions say to lay the cover on the surface of the water, mark the cover around the pool edges with a marker, then cut the cover with scissors so it is the same size and shape as the surface area of your pool. I did this, thinking it was a waste of money.

I was wrong. That cover heated my pool by 8-10 degrees within a week; coupled with my solar heater, we've been swimming in 92-95 degree water all summer long. In fact, I chose to leave the cover off for a couple nights just to let a little heat escape, as the pool wasn't as refreshing as I wanted! This is a great product, and when it finally wears out (as I suspect it will in a couple years), I will purchase an identical product to replace it.

Gardena 8801 3-Inch Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shears With One Battery Review

After being disappointed in two different Black & Decker shears (both of which refused to recharge after limited usage), these shears are a comparative delight. They're lighter weight, the angle of the blades is adjustable, the recharging really seems to work (I've used them for up to an hour, without any sign of their exhausting their charge), and the blades are easy to clean. They cut through heavy grass like it wasn't there, whereas the B&D shears would jam when cutting through more dense clumps.

The only "negative" I can give them is: I wish there were a trigger lock.

It'll be interesting to see how they perform next season, after a winter of non-use.

Though more expensive than several other makes, I decided than one set of these shears is less expensive than two (or more) sets of a lesser-quality shear. Life's too short to spend hours waiting for your shears to charge enough to trim around a hedge, then go flat.
